Scarecrow Event

Great Coates in Bloom organised a highly successful scarecrow competition on the weekend of 29th and 30th June.

A total of 27 scarecrows were displayed by residents who clearly had gone to alot of effort with entrants ranging rom the young children at Great Coates Nursery School all the way to a 92 year old gentleman living on Newbury Avenue.

Judge, Ward Councillor Tom Furneaux said “i was really really impressed with the quality of all the scarecrows, it was such a difficult decision”.

Everybody deserved to win but in the winners were:-

1st – Grandma’s House, The Avenue
2nd – The Gardeners, Woad Lane
3rd – The Picnic, Great Coates Nursery School
